The Joyous Noel Christmas Benefit Concert 2016
The Christmas season is a time for family and friends. A time for sharing; dinners in the company of loved ones, gifts given as an expression of love and appreciation. For many, this is not a possibility this year. The immigrant crises has effected all of us and is forcing a fundamental shift in our view of humanity, tolerance and giving. With so many displaced individuals in the world today, none of us can afford to turn our backs or close our hearts to those in need. This year you can give back by joining us for a Joyous Noel Christmas Benefit Concert, a night of music, warmth and laughter.
Hilary Coley, fitness guru, health coach and humanitarian, has made it her life-long mission to give back. With four decades of teaching experience behind her, Hillary has used her success here and abroad to bring individuals together with the collective focus of giving back to society. In her home city of New York, Hillary organized ‘Fitness Vibration’, a yearly event that raised awareness and money for charitable children’s organizations, such as Hale House, a foundation providing care and education to children in need.
In 2005 she opened Hillary Coley Fitness Studio in Schwabing, and brought with her that same passion for giving. That year she empowered her clients to extend a helping hand during the Christmas season. With an open door, individuals and families who found themselves without were invited to join them for Christmas dinner in a warm environment where they felt welcomed and accepted. ‘There was a need to help. For me it started with a calling to give to those who were not in a position to celebrate Christmas. Many are far from home, from family. I felt it important to give them a place they can feel welcome and at home.
In 2008 Hillary expanded the idea and began an annual Christmas benefit concert. The concert brings together professional and semi-professional artists and musicians with musical styles ranging from soul, jazz and pop to R & B and funk. Proceeds from the annual event go directly to the Peace Church United Methodist refugee fund. The funds are allocated to clothing, food and accommodation as well as programs for children and adults related to education and integration.
This year the concert finds a new home, at the well-known Jazzbar Voglers. Hosted by comedian Wayne Darrin, artists include Erin Perry, Zoe Staeblein, Raol Walton, Norisha Campbell and many more. This years’ concert is also proud to showcase several new and exciting artists including the group 28. All artists and musicians are gladly donating their time, passion and energy to raise not only money, but consciousness towards those who have been forcefully displaced from their Homeland.
Please join us for a Joyous Noel and help bring joy to those in need.
